ANCESTRAL ALLEGORIES

Drawing inspiration from narrative traditions and driven by my creative process and expressive aspirations, I embarked on a captivating artistic journey that revolved around vintage family portraits from the early twentieth century. Each photograph became a vessel through which I meticulously crafted stories, breathing life into cherished moments, symbolising the essence of my direct ancestors.

My intention is to evoke a sense of nostalgia and encourage viewers to reflect on their own connection with their ancestors and bygone eras. Old photographs have the power to link us to our past, evoke a sense of longing for times gone by, and visually reveal our ancestral heritage. They serve as a means of preserving and reviving memories for as long as the captured image exists.
